Default Questions about pvp

So I just read a stickied thread in the necromancer section and he mentions that necro's aren't good in pvp (anymore). So a few questions popped up.

1. Are pvp necro's still good? If so what 2nd class should i go?

2. I like to heal, my friend is a warrior and I want to pvp with him, should I just remake monk/warrior?

3. Are paragons any good in pvp?

If you want to PvP a lot, I'd suggest you have a dedicated PvP character slot. This way, you can reroll (recreate) the PvP character to any profession whenever you want.

I'm not very familiar with 'real' PvP such as GvG and HA, so I'll let other people answer the question about which professions to choose.

Yes necros are 'good' in pvp, their used in most formats. As for second class, thats preferance really, most of the time i'd suggest going nec/war as that will give you access to blocking stances etc. but there are a lot of options.

2. I like to heal, my friend is a warrior and I want to pvp with him, should I just remake monk/warrior?
If you like to heal then playing monk will be a good idea ;p . Again going Mo/W will give you access to stances, balanced stance is good as everyone will try to KD you. But again there are other options, depending on what type of pvp your doing.

3. Are paragons any good in pvp?
They can be, but they can also be pretty useless too ... its hard to right off a whole class as 'bad at pvp'. I beileve that their used in some gvg teams.

And I agree with Dzjudz- have a tleast one character slot that you use only for pvp, so you can reroll multiple proffesions and see which suits you best.

Hope this helps ;0

well the current metas include alot of hexes, so Necromancers are pretty popular, they have cover hexes and if played correctly, they can put immense pressure on the enemy healers. most people have some form of self protection in the form of a stance these days, which is taken from the warrior tactics line.
they spec 8 into tactics, hit the breakpoints for Defensive stance and use it when they're getting spiked.
also popular is /Dervish and spec 8 into earth prayers for Armor of Sanctity. use it when you're getting ganked (or just before when they're standing next to you,) and have 66% dmg reduction from regular attacks by the weakness, and an additional 13 damage reduction from the enchantment itself.

2. I like to heal, my friend is a warrior and I want to pvp with him, should I just remake monk/warrior?
Healing in pvp is pretty difficult to start with, since most teams in low end pvp (Random Arenas, Alliance Battles, the Jade Quarry, Fort Aspenwood etc.) go for the monks first. most monks run Mo/W with 8 in tactics for a defensive stance. if you know how to play then bonetti's defence really owns.

completely depends on what kind of pvp you're talking about, but they're not really used most of the time. the reason being that they don't want to waste their primairy on a primairy attribute that gives them energy returned when they're using shouts or chants, in RA you will never get full benefit from it, and it's generally not worth it. though in Alliance Battles (where you gotta do alot of running around) the Paragon is sometimes used with 'Incoming!' and 'Fall Back!' as partywide speed boosts, but having 2 ele's run Searing Flames as E/P with Fall back does thesame thing.
hope this helped.
